Live Blogging at Mindanao Bloggers Summit 2

Woot! I’m here in General Santos for the 2nd Mindanao Bloggers Summit and I’m having loads and loads of fun. Never mind if I haven’t slept yet…amf! Anyway, we left Davao by bus at 4 in the morning. We here refers to Chatee, Dulce, and Sara.

The theme for this year’s summit is Mindanawon, Paminawon Intawon: Blogging the Mindanao Consciousness. The speakers are already here and the Jester-in-Exile is here too! And yep… na-starstruck ang lola! Toinks!

The place so far is okay and the wifi provided by Globe is fast slow and inconsistent. So far I’ve seen a lot of familiar faces and some friends too! I had a very long chat with Mikko a while ago and did a little camwhoring on the side. haha.

Mayche, a sorority sister’s here too, Lesele, another friend from UP Min, and Elton, and many many more are here as well! Ooops, gotta go now, will write more about the summit later. For the mean time here a few of our photos, hosted on picasa because the connection is sooo slow.

A Post for the Blog Action Day

It’s 12:20 and it’s way past the 15th here. Still, better late than never right? Here’s my entry.

Roadside slumber

Three kids sleep on the steps of Davao City's Sangguniang Panglunsod amidst the flurry of Kadayawan's festivities

I have a dream. Not only for these kids but also for my sisters, my friends, for the children of my children. That dream is to live in a world where there is no debt and where each and every government serve the public interest.

to my fellow (and former comrades): SERVE the PEOPLE!

I may be pursuing a path different from yours but the spirit remains and the desire to serve continues to live on.

The Eyes - Another impromptu photoshop session

While waiting for the speaker to start I whipped out my laptop and took advantage of the free wifi. While looking around I saw a photoshop technique for the eyes that were uber cool. I tried it out using a photo of a child that prof. paluga took last March. Enjoy!

Abortion, Loose Morals, and the Reproductive Health Bill

Two days ago I was arguing having a shouting match with my brother about the reproductive health bill. Like most of our arguments, it started with something small and petty. For this episode, I think we started arguing about whether we should sell hosting space or not. Until now I have no idea how we came to the health bill, oh wait, I think it has something to do with him accusing me of not having a god, a religion, or something along that line.

And before we could come into blows, our mother (dragon as she is) scared us into shutting up lest we lose access to our precious internet connection. My brother’s main argument was that I have no (gasp!) morals because (gasp again!) I have no religion and (big gasp!) I am pro abortion. Read More

The lomo/holga effect using Adobe Photoshop CS 3

Early this year I was playing with the idea of trying out lomography. But since I had no extra funds and the thought of paying for film and developing fees changed my mind.

The solution? Recreate the effect using Photoshop! :) And that’s exactly what I did. The images are far from perfect (compared to other photoshop users) but what do I know? I’m just a noob. :)
