Salutti’s Italian Restaurant

Last Saturday I was lucky again to join the Davao Bloggers Food trip at Salutti, an Italian Restaurant in Casa de Habana compound on Rizal St., next to Caude’s Le Cafe de Ville, and just before Someplace Else.

Salutti, which means cheers in Italian is yet one of the best restaurants in Davao I’ve been to. The place is quite small but very charming, with good lighting fixtures, clean lines, a bar, and a patio where you can dine al fresco. Salutti’s owner Tricie Arcenas graciously treated us to an afternoon of gastronomic delights that came in five sets: spuntini, insalate, panini, pasta, and dolci.

Belly’s Grill

For the third leg of the Davao Bloggers Food trip, we all had a very satisfying free lunch at Belly’s Grill in Quirino, Davao City.I’ve heard before of Belly’s Grill but never thought of eating there, which is a shame. lol. The place is big enough and cool, ideal for group lunches and dinners as well as for meetings. For families with little kids they also have a playground though I’m not sure if I should recommend it as it’s right in front of the highway.

The owners were quite generous and allowed us to order what we wanted from their menu. Their menu is quite amusing, the photographs looked very yummy but with a disclaimer at the bottom: ‘actual food may differ from the photograph’. hehe. We later found out that the photos were taken by Ms. Celine’s (the owner) brother, Davao’s top photographer Lito Sy, for free. Ms. Celine’s one lucky sister.
