UP Resorts to Ego Bashing
Okay, my first post about UP Mindanao. And as much as I’d want it to be a good one, it’s not. I’m in the mood to rant and so I’ll rant.
I just got off the phone after a lead to a story I thought will be good for the school paper turned out to be a flop when I came across Karl’s multiply account.
Karl Castro is the former editor-in-chief of the Philippine Collegian and his term was quite popular because of the UP administration’s refusal to acknowledge the school paper’s autonomy.
He featured in his account two of the UP centennial songs, one from UP Diliman and the other from UP Los Banos. Before you get any ideas, I am proud of my school, I love this school, and I respect Oble for what he stands for. But I am not blind to the university’s faults, especially with the present administration.
